CVE-2026-94300 2 Isc, Redhat 3 Bind, Bind 9, Hummingbird 2026-10-21 8.1 High
Replaying GSS-TSIG signed UDP messages can result in memory corruption in "`named`". An attacker who can capture a previously signed UDP message can replay it while the negotiated TSIG key is still valid. By also sending crafted queries to a zone the attacker controls, the attacker may potentially achieve remote code execution. This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.11.0 through 9.18.50, 9.20.0 through 9.20.29, 9.21.0 through 9.21.26, 9.11.3-S1 through 9.18.50-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.29-S1.
CVE-2026-98153 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix racy access to FDP placement id array nvme_query_fdp_info() is called per-path and therefore prone to races. It populates head->nr_plids/head->plids for fdp registration. But nothing protects that pair from concurrent access - two paths scanning the same namespace can race to populate it. Avoid the race by moving this initialization work to nvme_alloc_ns_head() which is called once per shared namespace.
CVE-2026-98681 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: split cifsFileInfo bitfields to avoid shared-byte RMW races The invalidHandle, swapfile, oplock_break_cancelled, offload, and status_file_deleted fields are stored in the same bitfield byte in struct cifsFileInfo, but are updated in different code paths that may run simultaneously, and are protected by different locks. Since bitfield assignments generate byte-level read-modify-write operations, a modification to one flag can overwrite a concurrent modification to another flag. To avoid these races, convert these flags from a bitfield to separate bool fields.
CVE-2026-98669 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: buffer: serialize buffer teardown with mode claims Buffer-mode claims hold mlock to guarantee that the device remains in buffer mode until the claim is released. Normal buffer updates take info_exist_lock followed by mlock in iio_update_buffers(). However, iio_device_unregister() disables and deactivates all buffers without taking mlock. This can invalidate buffer state, including active_scan_mask, while a buffer-mode claim is held. Take mlock in iio_disable_all_buffers() so that unregister honors the mode-claim lifetime guarantee. The info_exist_lock -> mlock ordering matches iio_update_buffers().
CVE-2026-63974 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: Set HCI_CMD_DRAIN_WORKQUEUE during device close Since hci_dev_close_sync() can now be called during the reset path, we should also set HCI_CMD_DRAIN_WORKQUEUE. This avoids queuing timeouts while the hdev workqueue is being drained.
CVE-2026-46181 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/mlx4: Fix mis-use of RCU in mlx4_srq_event() Sashiko points out the radix_tree itself is RCU safe, but nothing ever frees the mlx4_srq struct with RCU, and it isn't even accessed within the RCU critical section. It also will crash if an event is delivered before the srq object is finished initializing. Use the spinlock since it isn't easy to make RCU work, use refcount_inc_not_zero() to protect against partially initialized objects, and order the refcount_set() to be after the srq is fully initialized.
CVE-2026-98507 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/rmap: fix missing barrier between anon_vma init and vma->anon_vma publish On arm64 server, we find that a task trying to grab the anon_vma lock triggers hungtask. INFO: task main:2354726 blocked for more than 120 seconds. There is another anon_vma whose anon_vma->root->rwsem.count is 1, the anon_vma->root->rwsem.owner shows the lock is held, but the stack of the task shows the task doesn't hold the anon_vma lock. After adding more debugging info, we found __anon_vma_prepare() reuses anon_vma and triggers the UAF of anon_vma->root due to missing memory barrier, leading to locking and unlocking two different anon_vma->root, thus leading to an anon_vma will never be unlocked, and another anon_vma couldn't be locked anymore. This race requires two adjacent VMAs that are not merged but are anon_vma-compatible (e.g., they differ in VMA_ACCESS_FLAGS that can be changed by mprotect()). Two threads fault on each VMA concurrently, both calling __anon_vma_prepare() with only mmap_lock held for reading. THREAD A THREAD B __anon_vma_prepare __anon_vma_prepare find_mergeable_anon_vma() -> NULL anon_vma = anon_vma_alloc(); anon_vma->root = anon_vma; // the two stores may be reordered vma->anon_vma = anon_vma; // finds A's anon_vma anon_vma = find_mergeable_anon_vma(vma); anon_vma_lock_write(anon_vma); // may still see the old root down_write(&anon_vma->root->rwsem); anon_vma_unlock_write(anon_vma); // see the new root, never unlock old up_write(&anon_vma->root->rwsem); thread A triggers page fault and calls __anon_vma_prepare() to prepare anon_vma for the faulting vma. __anon_vma_prepare() allocates and initializes a new anon_vma, and then publishes it to the vma with a plain store. anon_vma_prepare() only requires the mmap_lock to be held for reading, so two threads can fault on adjacent VMAs at the same time. While thread A publishes a new anon_vma, thread B could find the anon_vma via find_mergeable_anon_vma() and then locks anon_vma->root->rwsem. The store to anon_vma->root in anon_vma_alloc() and the store to vma->anon_vma can be reordered. The anon_vma_lock_write() and spin_lock() only provide acquire semantics, which do not prevent prior stores from being reordered after them. The release semantics of the corresponding spin_unlock() and anon_vma_unlock_write() come too late, the store to vma->anon_vma is already published before they take effect. As a result, thread B can observe the following order: vma->anon_vma = anon_vma; anon_vma->root = anon_vma; The anon_vma slab is SLAB_TYPESAFE_BY_RCU, so a newly allocated anon_vma may reuse memory from a previously freed one. The constructor (anon_vma_ctor) does not reset anon_vma->root, and __put_anon_vma() doesn't clear it either, so the old root value persists until anon_vma_alloc() overwrites it. If that store isn't v ---truncated---
CVE-2026-98465 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RISC-V: KVM: Serialize IMSIC attributes with vCPU migration KVM device ioctls are not serialized against KVM_RUN. As a result, kvm_riscv_aia_imsic_rw_attr() can snapshot the physical CPU and HGEI of an IMSIC VS-file before a concurrent vCPU migration releases it. The HGEI can then be allocated to another vCPU before imsic_vsfile_rw() uses the stale tuple. A GET or SET attribute may consequently access the new owner's interrupt file. Serialize the entire IMSIC attribute operation with the target vCPU mutex. This prevents the VS-file from being migrated and recycled until the attribute access completes. Acquire the mutex killably so that the device ioctl remains interruptible while waiting for KVM_RUN to finish.
CVE-2026-98297 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix queuing tx_work after workqueue is drained hci_send_acl(), hci_send_sco() and hci_send_iso() queue hdev->tx_work unconditionally. They can run from the L2CAP/SCO/ISO socket send path while hci_dev_close_sync() is draining hdev->workqueue (HCIDEVDOWN racing with a socket write). Since that queue_work() is not chained work from the tx_work worker itself, __queue_work() sees the queue marked __WQ_DRAINING, warns "cannot queue %ps on wq %s", and drops the work: WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 5985 at kernel/workqueue.c:2352 __queue_work Call Trace: queue_work_on l2cap_chan_send l2cap_sock_sendmsg ... hci_dev_close_sync() already sets HCI_CMD_DRAIN_WORKQUEUE before draining, but only hci_cmd_work() and handle_cmd_cnt_and_timer() check it before queuing. Route the tx_work producers through the same guard via a shared hci_sched_tx() helper.
CVE-2026-98032 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix subbuf resize races with trace_pipe_raw readers Concurrent subbuffer resizes may crash trace_pipe_raw readers or leak uninitialized memory to userspace due to stale size values. Modify ring_buffer_alloc_read_page() to handle the resizing of an existing buffer_data_read_page if necessary and add a new ring_buffer_read_page_size(). This new function enables ring-buffer buffer_data_read_page users to not call the racy ring_buffer_subbuf_size_get(). This makes the spare_size member of ftrace_buffer_info redundant. Finally, handle buffer_data_read_page/reader_page order discrepancy in ring_buffer_read_page(). On a mismatch simply copy manually the data to the buffer_data_read_page.
CVE-2026-97567 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: prevent race between disconnect() and rtx Sashiko noted that the two event can race, leading to inconsistent status. Prevent the race using the synchronous timer stop operation.
CVE-2026-97527 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Serialize NVMe unsol ctx list with a per-fcport lock The fcport->unsol_ctx_head list is modified from several contexts without a common lock. Entries are added in qla2xxx_process_purls_iocb() from the response queue ISR (under the qpair qp_lock), while they are removed from qla2xxx_process_purls_pkt() (DPC/purex worker), qla_nvme_xmt_ls_rsp() (NVMe-FC transport callback) and qla_nvme_release_lsrsp_cmd_kref() (SRB completion). The qpair qp_lock cannot serialize this per-fcport list since multiqueue adapters add entries through different qpairs, so a concurrent add and delete (or two concurrent deletes) can corrupt the list pointers. Introduce a dedicated per-fcport spinlock, unsol_ctx_lock, initialized in qla2x00_alloc_fcport(), and take it around every list_add_tail()/list_del() on unsol_ctx_head. The add nests under the existing qp_lock; no delete path takes qp_lock, so the lock order is consistent and deadlock free.
CVE-2026-93804 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: ibss: wait for in-flight TX on disconnect While leaving an IBSS in ieee80211_ibss_disconnect() mac80211 flushes stations, turns the carrier off and immediately tells the driver to leave as well. While there may be synchronize_net() in station flush and in this code later, packets can still be transmitted due to cross-CPU race conditions after carrier off is set. Therefore, it's possible for a race to happen where a TX to the driver occurs while or after telling it to leave the IBSS. This can be confusing to drivers, and in the case of iwlwifi leads to an attempt to use invalid queues. Move netif_carrier_off() to occur before sta_info_flush() during IBSS disconnect, and add synchronize_net() if flushing didn't, so that the synchronize_net() always happens between turning the carrier off and telling the driver, avoiding this race.
CVE-2026-74257 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sockmap: Fix use-after-free in udp_bpf_recvmsg() syzbot reported use-after-free of struct sk_msg in sk_msg_recvmsg(). [0] sk_msg_recvmsg() peeks sk_msg from psock->ingress_msg under a lock, but its processing is lockless. Thus, sk_msg_recvmsg() must be serialised by callers, otherwise multiple threads could touch the same sk_msg. For example, TCP uses lock_sock(), and AF_UNIX uses unix_sk(sk)->iolock. Initially, udp_bpf_recvmsg() had used lock_sock(), but the cited commit removed it. Let's serialise sk_msg_recvmsg() with lock_sock() in udp_bpf_recvmsg(). Note that holding spin_lock_bh(&sk->sk_receive_queue.lock) is not an option due to copy_page_to_iter() in sk_msg_recvmsg(). CVE-2026-72494 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/irdma: Replace waitqueue and flag with completion The driver previously used a waitqueue along with an explicit request_done flag, but without proper barriers around request_done. An earlier patch by Gui-Dong Han <hanguidong02@gmail.com> attempted to fix this by adding the missing memory barriers. Rather than adding the barriers, this patch replaces the waitqueue+flag with a completion, which is designed for this exact purpose.
CVE-2026-72405 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: udp_tunnel: prevent double queueing in udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync Yue Sun reported a use-after-free and debugobjects warning in udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync_work() during concurrent device operations. The workqueue core clears the internal pending bit before invoking the worker. At that point, a concurrent thread can queue the work again. When the already running worker eventually clears the work_pending flag to 0, it mistakenly clears the flag for the newly queued instance. udp_tunnel_nic_unregister() then observes work_pending as 0 and frees the structure while the second work item is still active in the queue, leading to UAF. Fix this by returning early in udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync() if work_pending is already set, preventing redundant work queueing.
CVE-2026-68396 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: core: wake eh reliably when using scsi_schedule_eh Drivers which use the scsi_schedule_eh function to run the error handler currently risk the error handler thread never waking once all commands are timed out or inactive. There is no enforced memory order between setting the host into error recovery state and counting busy commands. This can result in a race with scsi_dec_host_busy where neither CPU sees both conditions of all commands inactive and the host error state to request waking the error handler. To fix this, run the scsi_schedule_eh's scsi_eh_wakeup from a new work item which will use rcu to ensure scsi_schedule_eh's call to scsi_host_busy will occur after the error state is globally visible and will be seen by any current scsi_dec_host_busy callers.
CVE-2026-64305 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - protect service table iterations with service_lock The service_table list is protected by service_lock when entries are added or removed (in adf_service_add() and adf_service_remove()), but several functions iterate over the list without holding this lock. A concurrent adf_service_register() or adf_service_unregister() call could modify the list during traversal, leading to list corruption or a use-after-free. Fix this by holding service_lock across all list_for_each_entry() iterations of service_table in adf_dev_init(), adf_dev_start(), adf_dev_stop(), adf_dev_shutdown(), adf_dev_restarting_notify(), adf_dev_restarted_notify(), and adf_error_notifier(). The lock ordering is safe: callers of the static helpers (adf_dev_up() and adf_dev_down()) acquire state_lock before service_lock, and no event_hld callback or service_lock holder ever acquires state_lock in the reverse order.
CVE-2026-53109 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/pgtable-frag: Fix bad page state in pte_frag_destroy powerpc uses pt_frag_refcount as a reference counter for tracking it's pte and pmd page table fragments. For PTE table, in case of Hash with 64K pagesize, we have 16 fragments of 4K size in one 64K page. Patch series [1] "mm: free retracted page table by RCU" added pte_free_defer() to defer the freeing of PTE tables when retract_page_tables() is called for madvise MADV_COLLAPSE on shmem range. [1]: https://lore.kernel.org/all/7cd843a9-aa80-14f-5eb2-33427363c20@google.com/ pte_free_defer() sets the active flag on the corresponding fragment's folio & calls pte_fragment_free(), which reduces the pt_frag_refcount. When pt_frag_refcount reaches 0 (no active fragment using the folio), it checks if the folio active flag is set, if set, it calls call_rcu to free the folio, it the active flag is unset then it calls pte_free_now(). Now, this can lead to following problem in a corner case... Now, if this process exits, with such folio as it's cached pte_frag in mm->context, then during pte_frag_destroy(), we simply call pagetable_dtor() and pagetable_free(), meaning it doesn't clear the active flag. This, can lead to the above bug. Since we are anyway in do_exit() path, then if the refcount is 0, then I guess it should be ok to simply clear the folio active flag before calling pagetable_dtor() & pagetable_free().
CVE-2026-89520 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched/core: Make core-sched flips wait for in-flight selections Core scheduling's pick_next_task() operates on all sibling rqs under one acquisition of the shared core-wide lock. A ->pick_task() that releases the rq lock leaves every sibling __lock momentarily free, letting __sched_core_flip(false) complete mid-selection and rebind rq_lockp() under it. The selection resumes on the split locks, touching sibling state it no longer protects, and __schedule() finally releases a lock that was never taken while leaking the one that was. Count in-flight core-wide selections in the leader's rq->core_pick_in_flight and make __sched_core_flip() wait for the count to drain. The count only changes under the shared lock, which the flip holds while sampling, so no other ordering is needed. The wait can repeat while selections overlap, but the flip backs off between samples and flips are rare cookie-lifetime events. sched_core_cpu_deactivate() moves the count to the new leader - a stale copy left behind would bias it forever if that CPU later returns as its own leader.
