CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
udp: Deal with race between UDP socket address change and rehash
If a UDP socket changes its local address while it's receiving
datagrams, as a result of connect(), there is a period during which
a lookup operation might fail to find it, after the address is changed
but before the secondary hash (port and address) and the four-tuple
hash (local and remote ports and addresses) are updated.
Secondary hash chains were introduced by commit 30fff9231fad ("udp:
bind() optimisation") and, as a result, a rehash operation became
needed to make a bound socket reachable again after a connect().
This operation was introduced by commit 719f835853a9 ("udp: add
rehash on connect()") which isn't however a complete fix: the
socket will be found once the rehashing completes, but not while
it's pending.
This is noticeable with a socat(1) server in UDP4-LISTEN mode, and a
client sending datagrams to it. After the server receives the first
datagram (cf. _xioopen_ipdgram_listen()), it issues a connect() to
the address of the sender, in order to set up a directed flow.
Now, if the client, running on a different CPU thread, happens to
send a (subsequent) datagram while the server's socket changes its
address, but is not rehashed yet, this will result in a failed
lookup and a port unreachable error delivered to the client, as
apparent from the following reproducer:
LEN=$(($(cat /proc/sys/net/core/wmem_default) / 4))
dd if=/dev/urandom bs=1 count=${LEN} of=tmp.in
while :; do
taskset -c 1 socat UDP4-LISTEN:1337,null-eof OPEN:tmp.out,create,trunc &
sleep 0.1 || sleep 1
taskset -c 2 socat OPEN:tmp.in UDP4:localhost:1337,shut-null
wait
done
where the client will eventually get ECONNREFUSED on a write()
(typically the second or third one of a given iteration):
2024/11/13 21:28:23 socat[46901] E write(6, 0x556db2e3c000, 8192): Connection refused
This issue was first observed as a seldom failure in Podman's tests
checking UDP functionality while using pasta(1) to connect the
container's network namespace, which leads us to a reproducer with
the lookup error resulting in an ICMP packet on a tap device:
LOCAL_ADDR="$(ip -j -4 addr show|jq -rM '.[] | .addr_info[0] | select(.scope == "global").local')"
while :; do
./pasta --config-net -p pasta.pcap -u 1337 socat UDP4-LISTEN:1337,null-eof OPEN:tmp.out,create,trunc &
sleep 0.2 || sleep 1
socat OPEN:tmp.in UDP4:${LOCAL_ADDR}:1337,shut-null
wait
cmp tmp.in tmp.out
done
Once this fails:
tmp.in tmp.out differ: char 8193, line 29
we can finally have a look at what's going on:
$ tshark -r pasta.pcap

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm/dpu: Add mutex lock in control vblank irq
Add a mutex lock to control vblank irq to synchronize vblank
enable/disable operations happening from different threads to prevent
race conditions while registering/unregistering the vblank irq callback.
v4: -Removed vblank_ctl_lock from dpu_encoder_virt, so it is only a
parameter of dpu_encoder_phys.
-Switch from atomic refcnt to a simple int counter as mutex has
now been added
v3: Mistakenly did not change wording in last version. It is done now.
v2: Slightly changed wording of commit message
Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/571854/ |
| A race condition was addressed with additional validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate 27. A malicious app may be able to break out of its sandbox. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in a2aproject a2a-rs up to 0.4.4. The affected element is the function InMemoryTaskStore::update of the file a2a-server/src/task_store/inmemory.rs. The manipulation results in race condition. The attack may be performed from remote. The patch is identified as 7050c7d329238539424ee46440e23b91c4825bee. It is advisable to implement a patch to correct this issue. |
| Incorrect object recycling and re-use vulnerability in Apache Tomcat affecting HTTP/2 processing of asynchronous servlets can trigger request and/or response mix-up between users.
This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.22 through 11.0.26, from 10.1.55 through 10.1.60, from 9.0.118 through 9.0.122.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.27, 10.1.61 or 9.0.123, which fixes the issue. |
| A race condition was addressed with additional validation. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27, macOS Sequoia 15.8, macOS Tahoe 26.7. A malicious application may be able to bypass Privacy preferences. |
| A race condition was addressed with improved locking. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27. An app may be able to cause unexpected system termination. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in Windows Kernel allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| XSA-501 was about issues with v1 -> v2 and v2 -> v1 changes racing certain
other grant table operations. Sadly a v2 -> v1 -> v2 change has yet
another effect which wasn't accounted for: During the first change, status
pages would be freed. During the second change they would be allocated
again. Hence across the full pair of change the addresses of the status
pages may change, rendering stale previously calculated pointers into the
status array. |
| Use after free in Windows Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) Enclave allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| IBM Storage TS4500 Library 1.1.1.6 through 1.12.0.3 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to gain unauthorized administrative privileges due to a race condition. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in Windows Container Isolation FS Filter Driver (unionfs.sys) allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| In Apache CXF, STSTokenValidator checks whether a SAML assertion is signed by a trusted certificate before deciding to send it to the STS. That result was stored in one object shared by all requests, so one request could read another's result. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could send a forged assertion signed with an untrusted certificate while legitimate requests were being processed, and it could be accepted as trusted without ever reaching the STS. Only services that use STSTokenValidator to validate SAML tokens without alwaysValidateToSts set are affected.
Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: hid-oxp: use cancel_delayed_work_sync() in remove
oxp_hid_remove() uses cancel_delayed_work() for all three delayed work
items. cancel_delayed_work() only dequeues a pending work item without
waiting for a currently executing callback to finish. If any of the
work callbacks (oxp_rgb_queue_fn, oxp_btn_queue_fn, oxp_mcu_init_fn) is
running at the time of removal, the callback continues executing
concurrently with hid_hw_close() and hid_hw_stop(), accessing the HID
device after it has been closed and stopped.
Use cancel_delayed_work_sync() instead to ensure that any in-progress
work callback completes before device teardown proceeds. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: ufs: core: Keep internal commands dispatchable during error handling
Commit 08b12cda6c44 ("scsi: ufs: core: Switch to scsi_get_internal_cmd()")
switched UFS internal commands to allocate requests on
hba->host->pseudo_sdev->request_queue, which shares the host tagset with
regular LUNs.
During error recovery, ufshcd_err_handling_prepare() calls
blk_mq_quiesce_tagset(&hba->host->tag_set), marking all queues in the
tagset as quiesced, including pseudo_sdev->request_queue. When
ufshcd_verify_dev_init() subsequently issues internal commands (e.g. NOP
OUT UPIU) via blk_execute_rq(), blk_mq_run_hw_queue() skips running the
quiesced queue, resulting in an unrecoverable circular wait deadlock.
Keep quiescing the tagset and unquiesce the pseudo SCSI device on top of
that, so internal commands stay dispatchable while the logical units remain
quiesced. Re-quiesce the pseudo device before unquiescing the tagset so
that quiesce_depth stays balanced.
Clock scaling and ufshcd_pause_command_processing() are unaffected: they
keep quiescing the whole tagset, internal commands included. |
| A race condition vulnerability in the SessionManager of CNCF: Cloud Native Computing Foundation Argo CD v3.0.6 allows attackers to bypass rate limiting and perform a brute force attack via repeated crafted requests. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfp: hold IPsec RX state under the XArray lock
nfp_net_ipsec_rx() drops the XArray lock before taking a reference to the
xfrm_state it found. The delete path can erase the entry and drop the last
state reference in that interval. RX can then try to increment a zero
refcount after the state has been queued for destruction.
The driver queues firmware invalidation asynchronously; the delete path
does not wait for the command to complete or drain pending RX processing.
The XFRM garbage collector waits for an RCU grace period before freeing
the state. That delays reclamation but does not make acquiring a reference
from zero valid.
Take the xfrm_state reference before releasing the XArray lock so
xa_erase() cannot run between lookup and reference acquisition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
arm64: errata: Mitigate TLBI errata on various Arm CPUs
A number of CPUs developed by Arm suffer from errata whereby a broadcast
TLBI;DSB sequence may complete before the global observation of writes
which are translated by an affected TLB entry.
These errata ONLY affect the completion of memory accesses which have
been translated by an invalidated TLB entry, and these errata DO NOT
affect the actual invalidation of TLB entries. TLB entries are removed
correctly.
This issue has been assigned CVE ID CVE-2025-10263.
To mitigate this issue, Arm recommends that software follows any
affected TLBI;DSB sequence with an additional TLBI;DSB, which will
ensure that all memory write effects affected by the first TLBI have
been globally observed. The additional TLBI can use any operation that
is broadcast to affected CPUs, and the additional DSB can use any option
that is sufficient to complete the additional TLBI.
The ARM64_WORKAROUND_REPEAT_TLBI workaround is sufficient to mitigate
the issue. Enable this workaround for affected CPUs, and update the
silicon errata documentation accordingly.
Note that due to the manner in which Arm develops IP and tracks errata,
some CPUs share a common erratum number. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: act_ct: don't WARN on benign flow_offload_alloc() failure
flow_offload_alloc() returns NULL when the conntrack entry is dying
(e.g. raced with a conntrack flush) or when the GFP_ATOMIC allocation
fails; both are expected under load and neither is a kernel bug. This
path runs from softirq on every committed packet, so with
panic_on_warn=1 an unprivileged user can panic the box just by racing
a conntrack flush against a `tc ... action ct commit` classifier.
Reproduced with a custom repro under QEMU: a small, fixed set of UDP
flows through `tc filter ... action ct commit` on lo, raced against
threads flooding bare ctnetlink CT_DELETE (flush) requests. Hits
WARNING: net/sched/act_ct.c:437 (tcf_ct_flow_table_add(), inlined
into tcf_ct_act() in this build) within ~15s on the unpatched kernel;
same setup is clean on the patched kernel. The fix itself is
behavior-preserving: both branches already did `goto err_alloc`
before and after, only the WARN is removed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tcp: Add preempt_{disable,enable}_nested() in reqsk_queue_hash_req().
syzbot reported a weird reqsk->rsk_refcnt underflow in
__inet_csk_reqsk_queue_drop().
The captured reqsk_put() in __inet_csk_reqsk_queue_drop()
is called only when it successfully removes reqsk from ehash.
Moreover, reqsk_timer_handler() calls another reqsk_put()
after that.
This indicates that the reqsk was missing both refcnts for
ehash and the timer itself.
Since all the syzbot reports had PREEMPT_RT enabled, the only
possible scenario is that reqsk_queue_hash_req() is preempted
after mod_timer() and before refcount_set(), and then the timer
triggered after 1s aborts the reqsk due to its listener's close().
Let's wrap mod_timer() and refcount_set() with
preempt_disable_nested() and preempt_enable_nested().
Note that inet_ehash_insert() holds the normal spin_lock()
(mutex in PREEMPT_RT), so it must be called outside of
preempt_disable_nested(), but this is fine.
The lookup path just ignores 0 sk_refcnt entries in ehash
and tries to create another reqsk, but this will fail at
inet_ehash_insert().
