| CVE-2026-98827 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-18 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k_htc: bound TX aggregation to MAX_TX_BUF_SIZE __hif_usb_tx() dequeues up to MAX_TX_AGGR_NUM (20) frames into a single tx_buf of MAX_TX_BUF_SIZE (32768) bytes, limiting the batch by record count but never by cumulative byte length. With large frames (MTU 2304), 20 aggregated frames of 2292 bytes each exceed the allocation (20 * 2296 = 45920 bytes), so the memcpy() in the loop writes up to 13152 bytes past tx_buf->buf before usb_submit_urb(). Peek the queue head and stop before copying any record that would cross MAX_TX_BUF_SIZE, then dispatch the current batch. Leftover skbs remain queued and are drained on the next URB completion. The byte bound changes the loop's exit semantics: it can now exit before i == tx_skb_cnt - 1. Stock only finalized tx_buf->len on that last index (len += offset), so an early break would submit a URB holding only the last record's length while every dequeued skb is freed on completion, silently dropping frames. Make tx_buf->len a running total and advance tx_buf->offset per record instead; the stride round_up(nskb->len + 4, 4) is identical to the stock stride when the loop runs to completion. Tested on hardware with an MTU 2304 flood: the loop stops at record 15 (len = 32144, offset = 32144, within 32768), no oversized URB is submitted, and MTU 1500 pings pass 20/20. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98839 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-18 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vt: selection: Fix unsigned underflow and slab-out-of-bounds read in paste_selection() In paste_selection(), the loop copies min_t(unsigned int, vc_sel.buf_len - pasted,tty->receive_room) bytes per iteration into tty_ldisc_receive_buf() and increments pasted += count. Because the selection mutex (vc_sel.lock) is dropped inside the loop Whenever the line discipline buffer fills up and paste_selection() sleeps on tty->write_wait, a concurrent TIOCLINUX (TIOCL_SETSEL) ioctl can replace vc_sel.buffer with a shorter selection and reduce vc_sel.buf_len below pasted. When paste_selection() resumes, vc_sel.buf_len - pasted underflows as an unsigned integer to a large positive value, causing tty_ldisc_receive_buf(ld, vc_sel.buffer + pasted, NULL, count) to read up to 4094 bytes out-of-bounds past the newly allocated vc_sel.buffer. Fix this by terminating the loop when pasted >= vc_sel.buf_len. | CVE-2026-98868 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-18 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm-pcache: reject a kset that overruns its segment cache_replay(), the writeback worker and the GC worker read a kset of get_kset_onmedia_size() bytes and advance the position by it. A forged key_num makes that size exceed the segment's remaining space, so the advance walks past the segment and trips the cache_pos_advance() BUG_ON. Reject a kset whose on-media size exceeds cache_seg_remain() before use. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98803 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-18 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: fix rx Scatter-Gather support When a received frame is larger than dma_buf_sz, the DMA scatters it across multiple RX descriptors (rx Scatter-Gather). The secondary RX buffer (sec_page) was only allocated and programmed when split-header (SPH) was active, so for regular frames buffer2 was neither allocated nor backed by a valid mapping. As soon as an incoming frame overflowed buffer1, the DMA wrote the overflow into the unmapped secondary-buffer address, triggering an SMMU translation fault on IOMMU-based platforms: arm-smmu 15000000.iommu: Unhandled context fault: fsr=0x402, iova=0x00000000, fsynr=0x7f0011, cbfrsynra=0x1c90, cb=11 arm-smmu 15000000.iommu: FSR = 00000402 [Format=2 TF], SID=0x1c90 arm-smmu 15000000.iommu: FSYNR0 = 007f0011 [S1CBNDX=127 WNR PLVL=1] Enable scatter-gather for non-SPH frames on cores that can program an independent secondary RX buffer (GMAC4/XGMAC): allocate and mark buffer2 as valid in stmmac_init_rx_buffers() and stmmac_rx_refill(), and account for it in the buffer length computation. Legacy cores have no set_sec_addr op, so they keep buffer2 disabled. Since buffer2 is handed to the DMA at page offset 0, the page pool sync window is widened to cover both buffers in every mode: offset is set to 0 and max_len to dma_buf_sz + stmmac_rx_offset(). The FCS can straddle the buffer1/buffer2 boundary and a descriptor boundary, so it is now stripped from the tail of the assembled frame with pskb_trim() instead of from a single buffer, avoiding an unsigned underflow for frames that overflow a buffer by 1..3 bytes. For single-buffer frames the XDP program must not see the FCS, so it is removed from the XDP buffer before the program runs. Native XDP currently only supports single-buffer (linear) frames. An oversized frame accepted by the MAC (jumbo enabled) is received via buffer2; the XDP program only sees buffer1, so on a TX/REDIRECT verdict the frame is forwarded truncated. XDP multi-buffer support to handle this case is planned as a follow-up. AF_XDP zero-copy RX is not covered by this change: a ZC queue still programs buffer2 at DMA address 0 (and XGMAC has no buffer2-valid bit), so an oversized frame overflowing buffer1 can still trigger the same SMMU translation fault. Handling is planned as a follow-up. | ||||

| CVE-2026-80731 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: remove CAP_SYS_RAWIO zero-padding in dev_validate_header dev_validate_header() reads dev->hard_header_len directly when zero-padding short link layer headers for CAP_SYS_RAWIO holders: if (capable(CAP_SYS_RAWIO)) { memset(ll_header + len, 0, dev->hard_header_len - len); return true; } Packet send paths call dev_validate_header() on skbs whose headroom was allocated from an earlier hard_header_len read. If the device is reconfigured so that dev->hard_header_len increases before validation, the memset writes past the reserved buffer, an out-of-bounds write. This out-of-bounds write is masked in some SOCK_RAW paths today because the same concurrent increase can first make skb_push() exceed the reserved headroom and trigger skb_under_panic(). Remove the zero-padding branch before making those hard_header_len reads consistent, so the snapshot fixes do not turn a loud panic into a silent overwrite. This path is only reached for variable length L2 protocols, where len < hard_header_len but len >= min_header_len. No remaining in-tree variable length L2 protocol implements header_ops->validate, and the CAP_SYS_RAWIO bypass that zero-pads and accepts short headers has no real value beyond allowing testing of intentionally malformed input. Drop the CAP_SYS_RAWIO branch. The remaining reads of dev->hard_header_len in dev_validate_header() are comparisons only and have no memory safety impact. | ||||
| CVE-2026-80722 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: validate individual TWT params before driver setup ieee80211_process_rx_twt_action() only partially validates a received S1G TWT setup frame before queueing it. An individual agreement can therefore reach ieee80211_s1g_rx_twt_setup() with twt->length too short for the full struct ieee80211_twt_params. The individual path passes twt to drv_add_twt_setup(). Both the tracepoint and the driver callback consume the complete parameters block, not merely req_type. Do not pass a short individual agreement to the driver. Broadcast agreements remain unchanged because they are rejected locally after accessing only req_type. [edit commit message to not overclaim lack of validation nor understate driver impact] | ||||
| CVE-2026-80702 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: fix guest_memory_dirty bitfield clobbered as size Two sites in vmwgfx_resource.c assign boolean literals to res->guest_memory_size, which is an unsigned long allocation-size field; the intended target is the adjacent res->guest_memory_dirty bitfield. After the assignments the field holds 0 or 1 instead of the resource's MOB allocation size: - vmw_resource_release() writes 0 (false), and - vmw_resource_unbind_list() writes 1 (true). Subsequent revalidation paths read guest_memory_size when computing the dirty page range (vmw_bo_dirty_transfer_to_res()) and the buffer allocation size (vmw_resource_buf_alloc()), producing zero-length walks or wrap-around ranges that read or write past the MOB bitmap. The dirty-tracking intent of the original code (mark the resource as dirtied since the last sync) is also lost, since guest_memory_dirty is never updated. Rename both assignments to guest_memory_dirty. | ||||
| CVE-2026-80580 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: bound mode sysfs output to the sysfs buffer mode_string() uses snprintf() which can return a value larger than the remaining buffer space. show_modes() accumulates the return value into i without checking whether i has reached PAGE_SIZE, causing the offset to advance past the sysfs buffer if the modelist is long enough. Add a size parameter to mode_string() and use scnprintf() to return only the bytes actually written. Add an early return when offset already exceeds the buffer. In show_modes(), stop accumulating once the buffer is full. | ||||
| CVE-2026-74724 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: avoid out-of-bounds write in ip_vs_nat_icmp Sashiko warns that local attacker can modify the packet while it is processed by IPVS. Some places read the IP ihl field multiple times which can cause out-of-bounds access. One such place is ip_vs_nat_icmp where we can write after the validated area. Fix it by providing ciph argument just like it is done for IPv6 and use ciph->len as offset to the embedded transport header. Modify some IPv4 header checks by reading the ihl field only once. | ||||
| CVE-2026-74469 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: prevent peer transport count overflow sctp_assoc_add_peer() increments the association's 16-bit transport_count for every new unique peer. Adding the 65,536th transport wraps the count to zero. SCTP sock_diag uses transport_count to reserve the INET_DIAG_PEERS payload, then copies one sockaddr_storage for every entry in transport_addr_list. After the wrap, a diagnostic dump reserves an empty payload and writes 8 MiB of peer addresses past the skb tail. Reject a new unique peer when transport_count has reached U16_MAX. Perform the check after the existing-peer lookup so a duplicate address continues to return its existing transport at the limit. | ||||
| CVE-2026-74408 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: fix OOB access from firmware tx status queue ID ath_tx_edma_tasklet() accesses sc->tx.txq[ts.qid] where ts.qid is a 4-bit hardware field (0-15), but the txq array only has ATH9K_NUM_TX_QUEUES (10) entries. A qid >= 10 causes an OOB array access. Add a bounds check on ts.qid before using it as an array index. | ||||
| CVE-2026-74404 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: ccp - Fix snp_filter_reserved_mem_regions() off-by-one Sashiko notes: > regarding the bounds check in snp_filter_reserved_mem_regions() > called via walk_iomem_res_desc(): does the check > if ((range_list->num_elements * 16 + 8) > PAGE_SIZE) > allow an off-by-one heap buffer overflow? > > If range_list->num_elements is 255, 255 * 16 + 8 = 4088, which is <= 4096. > Writing range->base (8 bytes) fills 4088-4095, but writing range->page_count > (4 bytes) would write to 4096-4099, overflowing the kzalloc-allocated > PAGE_SIZE buffer. Fix this by accounting for the entry about to be written to, in addition to the entries that are already allocated. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: meson: aiu: Validate written enum values The AIU HDMI and internal codec mux put callbacks use the written enum value with snd_soc_enum_item_to_val() before checking whether the value is valid for the enumeration. Reject out-of-range values before converting the enum item, matching the validation already done by the G12A HDMI and internal codec mux controls. | ||||
| CVE-2026-72302 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-16 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc3-control: Use overflow checks in control_update size calc In sof_ipc3_control_update(), the expected_size calculation uses firmware-provided cdata->num_elems in arithmetic that could overflow on 32-bit platforms, wrapping to a small value. This would allow the cdata->rhdr.hdr.size comparison to pass with mismatched sizes, potentially leading to out-of-bounds access in snd_sof_update_control. Use check_mul_overflow() and check_add_overflow() to detect and reject overflowed size calculations. | ||||
